Settings and results

The starting settings are JPG quality 85 and a white background. Choose another background in advanced conversion. For animated WebP, explicitly choose the first frame or use WebP output in the general converter to retain animation.

File storage and deletion

Files are uploaded and processed on the server. Originals and results are stored privately and accessed through their account or browser session; downloads use short-lived links. By default, files expire 24 hours after upload and are removed by the cleanup process. You can delete them earlier in your workspace. The current local default allowance is 20 uploaded files per 24 hours.

Common questions

Can JPG keep transparent pixels?

JPG has no transparency channel. FormatOwl fills transparent areas with your chosen color. Use PNG or WebP in the image converter when transparency matters.
