Cookies are small pieces of browser data that can be sent with requests to the relevant website. Browser local storage can keep preferences on your device. FormatOwl uses these mechanisms for account and interface functions.
NEXT_LOCALE cookie remembers your selected language.theme local storage setting remembers light, dark or system appearance. The first-party formatowl_visit session cookie contains a random, signed identifier used to deduplicate visits. It expires with the browser session; we do not use it for advertising. DNT and Global Privacy Control opt-outs prevent collection. Third-party analytics, session replay and advertising targeting cookies remain disabled. If you choose third-party sign-in, checkout or other external services, those providers may use their own cookies under their policies.
Use browser settings to inspect, delete or block site cookies, and clear local storage and cached resources. Removing session cookies affects sign-in. Clearing theme and language preferences means choosing them again.
Free tools need no account; advanced tools require sign-in with trials or Pro access; the browser must allow their scripts and access to files you choose. Manage camera and clipboard permissions separately in browser site settings.
FormatOwl does not store source file contents in cookies. Files and text are processed locally on tool pages. Account and form data are described in the privacy policy.
