FormatOwl respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our file conversion, compression, editing, translation, and credit services, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
1. Who controls your information

2. Information we collect
- Account information, such as your email address and authentication records, when you create an account.
- Files and task data that you choose to upload or create. Files are stored privately and normally expire 24 hours after upload unless you delete them sooner.
- Billing information such as the product purchased, amount, currency, payment status, and receipt identifiers. Payment card details are handled by Waffo Pancake and are not stored on FormatOwl servers.
- Technical information needed to operate and secure the service, including IP address, browser and device details, timestamps, error logs, and usage records.
- Messages or feedback you send to our support address.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and secure the service, process purchases and credit grants, run requested media processing, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, investigate errors, comply with law, and improve reliability. We may use aggregated or de-identified information for service measurement.
4. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share only what is needed with service providers that host files, process payments, deliver email, or help us operate the service, and when required by law or necessary to protect the service and its users. Waffo Pancake processes checkout and payment card data; FormatOwl does not receive or store full card numbers.
5. Security and retention
We use HTTPS, access controls, private object storage, and hashed authentication secrets. Uploaded originals and generated files are removed by the cleanup process after their stated retention period. Account, billing, and security records may be retained longer when needed for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or dispute-resolution purposes.
6. Your choices
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by emailing xlukk277167@gmail.com. We will verify the request and respond within the period required by applicable law. You may also stop using the service and delete files from your workspace when that option is available.
7. Children and third-party services
The service is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. This policy does not govern third-party sites or services linked from FormatOwl; review their policies separately.
